Nathan Brannen, whom the club has given financial assistance to in the past, set a University of Michigan record of 1:47.61 in successfully defending his NCAA indoor 800 metre title, Saturday (Mar. 12, 2004). He's the first UofM runner to do so, indoors. The day before, he and 3 teammates set a world best time for the distance medley
event, which consists of 1200 metres, 400metres, 800 metres, and 1600 metres. Nathan ran the 1200m (2:54) and their final time was 9:27.77, 1 second under the record. That's some pretty fast running by that guy. He started his running career in the CanAmera Games the same as Doug Consiglio
did.
