Not huge but sufficiently strong to attract fast runners (last year’s winning male did 2:10:15, top female, 2:34:31). The race has also hosted the master of masters runners, Ed Whitlock, who, at age 73 raced under 3:00 hours in the marathon, and in 2006 set a world record for men 75-and-over of 3:08. </FONT></div>
