Gary finishing the 1500 metres
Last weekend, Gary Cassel junior competed in two events at the Ontario Masters provincial indoor championships in Toronto. He was 4th in the age 50-54 1500 metres, and 2nd in the 3000 metres. His times were 5:06 and 11:26.
Katherine Willis got a second place silver in the women's 60-64 category 1500 metres, running 7:37.
Wayne Gagne, now running for the Muskoka Runners, was 1st in the 60-64 400 metres in 64.8 seconds, 2nd in the 200 metres in 28.5 seconds, and 2nd in the 60 metres in 8.4 seconds.
In today's Chilly Half Marathon in Burlington, Mike Hammond placed 211th out of 2500 runners, covering the 21.1 kilometres in 1 hour, 28 minutes and 49 seconds.
